Description
Astronomers have a symbol for each planet. This sticker is the one for Jupiter.
Jupiter is the fifth planet out from the sun. It is by far the most massive planet in the solar system. It very likely acted as a vacuum cleaner and referee during the formation of the solar system. It’s large mass and gravitational pull swept up lots of matter. It also ejected many stray bodies that were accelerated towards it then flung out of the inner solar system when they missed.
The symbol for Jupiter is an adapted hieroglyph of an eagle. The Roman god Jupiter (or Jove) was often pictured with an eagle. Zeus was the Greek equivalent, and some folks see a Z hidden in the symbol.
