Newton’s Second Law Momentum Form Sticker
The Newton’s Second Law Momentum Form sticker has the version of the law most similar to Newton’s original statement. It tells us that the force on an object depends on how fast the object’s momentum is changing. To create a greater force, you need to change the momentum more quickly. The other formulation, F = m a, is more common in most introductory physics classes. This version, though, is more appropriate for calculus-based courses.
This version of the equation gives a bit more insight into the impulse-momentum theorem. The impulse is the force times the time, which is equal to the change in momentum.
